| A company in Kharkiv, Ukraine, SPE SINTA Ltd. has developed
and patented a process for producing and refining nano scale diamonds
useful for enhancement of various industrial products and materials.
This technology is a convergence of the “nano” scale
research and development and synthetic diamond research and development.
SINTA has developed some applied technologies:
-production
of protector and restoration additives for lubricants;
-composite
chromdiamond plating;
-composite
golddiamond plating.
Nanodimond effect is based on principles of dispersive hardening
and strengthening of both properties of materials and coatings,
according to which addition of small particles to the matrix of
the basic material (metal, polymer, ceramics, liquid and tough mediums)
are capable to change considerably structures and properties of
the latter.
Sinta are working to develop relationships and applications in the
major machine building companies in Ukraine and they are participating
in a program of the Ministry of Industry of Ukraine related to designing
and manufacturing engines with higher reliability and longer durability.
